International Educators Becoming Intercultural Leaders Accessing Full Intelligence

Thursday, November 14
10:00 AM - 11:15 AM
Location: Baltimore

As International Educators we routinely engage in intercultural communication among our internal stakeholders (students, staff, and faculty) and external stakeholders (partner organizations, vendors, etc.). In these situations, our intercultural effectiveness can be critical to the quality of these relationships and, thus, the success of our work as international educators. Becoming more adept at accessing our full intelligence in these intercultural situations, including our emotional intelligence, will also allow us to further our personal intercultural competence development. This presentation will engage participants in a brief intercultural exercise, discuss its implications for their work, and get an introduction to other applied intercultural leadership tools that they can integrate into their own personal practice of intercultural competence development.
