Under Pressure: Advanced International Student Hot Topics

This session will discuss the latest “hot topics” and updates on immigration-related issues facing international students, including issues related to practical training, processing times, and the current status of USCIS’ unlawful presence guidance, among others.  Presenters will share practical guidance and provide tips for how to adapt institutional practices, and advise current and prospective students, based on these recent developments.

David E. Gluckman is an immigration attorney and Director in McCandlish Holton’s Immigration Practice Group in Richmond, Virginia. His expertise includes temporary-visa petitions, permanent-residence applications for family-based and employment-based applications in all categories, citizenship, the immigration consequences of criminal convictions, and federal litigation of immigration matters. David is a NAFSA member and has presented at the last three NAFSA Annual Conferences and several Region conferences on hot immigration topics. Outside NAFSA, David regularly presents directly to students, faculty, scholars, and university administrators on immigration topics.
