All trainings, presentations, and even meetings, virtual or in-person, have a pulse...or at least they should! Identify intentional ways of adding energy, reflection, and meaningful connections and networking to trainings, presentations, and meetings in order to add value to the overall experience for your participants. This interactive session will model ways to keep your audience engaged as we present and learn from each other.

Jana Moser Moore

Jana Moser Moore has experience in many areas of higher education: academic advising, student programming and support, DSO, credential evaluations, international admission and recruitment, policy development, and ESL instruction. As Assistant Director for Student Services/DSO, Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute, she provides support, programming and advisement to students. A Rotarian, Jana carries over her support for international education by volunteering with Rotary Youth Exchange. She has a BA in International Studies and Foreign Languages from The University of Southern Mississippi, an MEd in Adult and Higher Education from The University of Oklahoma, and a TESOL Certificate from Methodist University.

Lauren Newton, MEd

Program Manager
NAFSA Office Professional Development Services

Lauren Newton is the Program Manager for NAFSA’s Professional Learning Services team, providing support to NAFSA’s Academy and coordinating NAFSA’s on-site workshop offerings. Prior to this role, she was the coordinator for NAFSA’s Education Abroad Services team for over two years. Before joining the NAFSA staff in 2015, Lauren worked in the Study Abroad Office at the University of South Carolina for four years in multiple roles, ending her time there as a study abroad advisor. Lauren holds an M.Ed. in Higher Education & Student Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in political science both from the University of South Carolina. During her undergraduate years she studied abroad in Taiwan, Spain and Cuba and has made professional trips to South Africa and Italy, visiting 17 countries in total. In her spare time, Lauren loves reading great books, drinking good wine, traveling with her husband, and riding her bicycle all over DC!
