Queer Your International Services: A Toolkit for Serving International LGBTQ Students

They're here, and they're queer: how do you support the needs of your international LGBTQ population? This session will offer resources, ideas and opportunities for International Office staff to begin to expand services for their LGBTQ international students and scholars.We will cover a spectrum of services, such as pre-arrival information, connecting students to groups and peers, and enhancing the visibility of your allyship.

Katrina Knudsen is an experienced international student advisor with 15+ years of experience in higher education. She serves as a DSO/ARO at the University of Maryland, specializing in advising on academic integrity issues, academic difficulty and re-enrollment, mental health issues and LGBTQ+ international students.

Stacy Williams, MA

International Student Advisor
Georgetown University

Stacy Williams is an International Student Advisor and Orientation Director at Georgetown University. She has a MA in International Education from The George Washington University. She believes international exchange, intercultural communication, and storytelling are critical and powerful modes of learning in today's interconnected world.
