Strength’s Building 101: Positive advising methods for diverse students

Thursday, November 14
8:30 AM - 9:45 AM
Location: Frederick

International Education advisors often experience varying levels of discomfort when advising students that are different than themselves, often because they are lacking general knowledge of the student’s background and lived experience. This interactive session introduces the growth mindset and strength-based approach which gives advisors the foundation on how to recognize their own strengths, and how to ask the right questions to best support diverse students, and moving out of their comfort zone.
