Panelists will present relevant background information on current national, state, local, and institutional policies that relate to sexual orientation and gender identity (SO/GI) cultural competency in public health care settings. They will then review data to date from the roll out of the SO/GI Cultural Competence Initiative at the San Francisco Health Network. The panelists will also describe common challenges with SO/GI data collection in large healthcare institutions. Finally, the panelists will facilitate a discussion about next steps for the initiative and its evaluation, as well as broader SO/GI data collection challenges and approaches.
