Maria Amelia Veras is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Collective Health in the Department of Collective Health of Santa Casa de São Paulo School of Medical Sciences. She coordinates the LGBT+ Human Rights and Health Research Group. Dr. Veras has 30 years of experience in epidemiological research on HIV with special focus on health and social disparities experienced by the MSM and trans communities in Brazil. Currently is the Site PI for two NIH grants and on the coordinating of the Red Ibero-Americana de Estudios en Hombres Gay, otros HSH y Personas Trans.
