Kiala Emmons (she/her/hers) is as a 32 year old African American transgender woman who was born in Daytona beach. Kiala has spent most of her adult life demonstrating her passion to help others and actively serving her community. In 2015, she started her career at METRO as a Prevention Specialist where she developed professional skills conducting HIV/Hepatitis C tests, facilitating social/support groups, planning/organizing outreach events and speaking at events in the community. Following the development of the Trans Services Division in 2018, Kiala switched roles and became METRO’s Trans Services Navigator where she helps connect trans individuals in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties to healthcare and other supportive resources.
