Irene Folaron, MD

Dr. Irene Folaron is an Air Force board certified Endocrinologist. She currently serves as the Program Director for the Joint-Base San Antonio Endocrinology Fellowship and is the Endo Consultant to the AF Surgeon General (SG). In this role, Dr. Folaron is the primary subject-matter expert and advocate to the SG office for cross-sex hormones in the setting of military readiness. She also developed a unique clinical rotation for local residents and AF providers to learn transgender care and routinely teaches on management of cross-sex hormones to AF providers globally.
