Transgender and gender expansive (TGE) people face barriers unique to their gender identities that limit access to and may reduce the quality of contraception and abortion care. Discrimination and mis-gendering in the health care setting, among other experiences, deter care-seeking and undermine the bodily autonomy of these patients. Clinicians, researchers, and counselors will share best practices from clinical care, and insights gathered from ongoing nationally-sourced research on gender-inclusive contraception and abortion care in the United States.
