Genital surgery carries significant implications for transgender people's sexuality, but little work has been done to develop sex therapy techniques for addressing these implications. In fact, sexual pleasure in transfeminine people following genital surgery has received surprisingly little clinical attention! This workshop will present a series of sex therapy interventions specifically tailored to promoting and supporting sexual functioning and satisfaction of transfeminine people following genital surgery using a pleasure-oriented positive sexuality framework.

 

Learning Objectives:

• Identify pleasure oriented positive sexuality framework for working with transfeminine patients in addressing sexual functioning and satisfaction
• Identify and adapt sex therapy techniques aimed specifically in working with transfeminine patients post genital surgery
• Increase knowledge of resources available to transfeminine patients post genital surgery to address sexual functioning and satisfaction
