Artificial Intelligence won’t change your life. Wait, yes it will! And sooner than you think.
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is all over the news these days. This could make us think that AI is a brand new field in computer science. It isn’t: the field of AI research started in 1956. It was a time when newspapers had Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley on the cover page and landing man on the moon was not yet a goal.
A recent convergence of technological advances now brings AI to the forefront. We have entered an era of massive digital data generation, cheap data storage, and ever faster and more affordable computing power. While Artificial Intelligence might sound like a promise for the future we should not fool ourselves: it is happening now and it will impact all of us. Our companies, our processes, and not unimportantly ourselves.
This lively session starts off with a high level look back at the early days of AI explaining why only now AI becomes so pervasive in our lives. Not only in consumer applications but also in healthcare and at Pharma companies. Not only in research but also in Manufacturing, Commercial, and yes, Regulatory.
AI is becoming our new partner at work. The future of work is one of humans + AI. But what does this mean for us? How are we humans to remain relevant, useful for an organization when algorithms will start to take over some of the tasks we are uniquely qualified to do - or so we think.
The session will end with a call for action, a call for reflection about our own future career in this world of Artificial Intelligence.
