Joanna brings over 18 years of adaptive leadership experience in the global medical device industry. She is passionate about cross-functional collaboration and the potential for medical device innovation to impact clinician’s work and patient’s lives. Joanna is currently Vice President, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs at Edwards Lifesciences. Her team is focused on global approvals for devices in the Critical Care space including first-in-class predictive analytics software providing innovative hemodynamic monitoring and clinical decision support.
Joanna’s past roles include responsibility over time for a broad spectrum of technologies including mitral valve repair implants, bare metal and drug eluting coronary, carotid and peripheral stents, a bioresorbable drug-eluting scaffold, embolic protection systems, balloon dilatation catheters, coronary and peripheral guidewires, and vessel closure devices. She has extensive engagement with regulatory agencies in the US, EU, Asia, Canada and Latin America, with additional expertise in clinical affairs, pre- and post-market quality audits, change management, advertising and promotion, and regulatory due diligence.
Joanna has a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University. Prior to entering industry, Joanna spent 6 years in various research and laboratory positions with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Outside the office, Joanna enjoys a variety of outdoor activities with her husband and two sons.
