The purpose of this session is to share and provide information which may allow others to be proactive by providing a potential framework for sister organizations to consider for managing a Medicaid Investigation. We will go over the areas of concern for the organization prior to the investigation, the details of a crisis plan, the psychological impact of undergoing a Medicaid fraud investigation and the effects on staff morale. The areas in which we improved as a result of the investigation and pertinent state and federal regulations will also be discussed as well as the most common forms of Medicaid billing errors and working under a Corporate Integrity Agreement.
