Michele Favolise, PT, DPT, CFE has been teaching in the areas of cardiopulmonary evaluation and intervention and pathophysiology for 18 years. Graduating with a B.S. from Northeastern University in 1993, she possesses clinical experience in a variety of settings including critical care and acute rehabilitation, inpatient subacute care, outpatient and home care. In these settings, Ms. Favolise utilizes her knowledge of cardiovascular and pulmonary dysfunction and pathophysiology in the PT management of patients with complex medical conditions. She has served as the pulmonary senior therapist and holds certification in cardiac functional evaluation. Her particular areas of interest have been cardiopulmonary dysfunction and disease and complex medical conditions. Currently, she is an assistant professor at American International College, with previous faculty appointments at Westfield State University and the University of Hartford. Her research interests include the use of new technologies (virtual and augmented reality) to enhance teaching and learning, collaborative interdisciplinary teaching with the use of clinical simulation experiences on the acute care clinical performance of physical therapy students and inter-professional education.
