Dr. Suskauer is a pediatric physiatrist and physician-researcher at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Her clinical and research endeavors span the range of pediatric acquired brain injury from concussion to disorders of consciousness. Dr. Suskauer served as a subgroup lead for the Systematic Review on the diagnosis and management of mTBI in children which formed the basis for the subsequent CDC Guideline on the diagnosis and management of mTBI among children and was an author on the Guideline. Dr. Suskauer was the lead author on the follow-up manuscript Strengthening the evidence base: Recommendations for Future Research Identified through the Development of CDC’s Pediatric Mild TBI Guideline published in the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation. Dr. Suskauer is part of the leadership team for the 2019 and 2020 Galveston Brain Injury Conferences.
