Jessica M. Jarvis, PhD, MT-BC is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh. She is a music therapist who practiced for several years within a pediatric intensive care unit. Her passion for improving functional outcomes following pediatric critical illness drove her to obtain a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Dr. Jarvis completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is currently receiving additional training through the Pediatric Neurocritical Care and Resuscitation Research T32 program with University of Pittsburgh’s Safar Center for Resuscitation Research. Her research centers on understanding and improving pediatric critical care survivorship for children and their families.
