Dr. Anita Bialunska is a neuropsychologist and the Assistant Professor in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). Dr. Bialunska completed her Ph.D. at the University of Warsaw in Poland and her Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Concussion Management Clinic at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at UTEP. Her research interest involves neurocognitive functioning, in particular, sensorimotor integration and synchronization in brain-injured patients, and the impact of non-specific factors on treatment outcomes. She employs basic and clinical research and develops behavioral and electrophysiological techniques to better understand mechanisms and neuronal underpinnings of brain dysfunctions. For years, she has also been working with brain-injured patients in a clinical setting. Her ultimate goal is to advance the treatment and prevention of brain disorders.
She is currently looking at the recovery mechanisms of impaired visuomotor control and timing abilities in the mTBI population, as well as the impact of environmental factors on the prevalence of brain injuries.
