Daryl Lawson PT, DSc is an associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Western Michigan University. He obtained his undergraduate degree (BS) from Central Michigan University and physical therapy degree from the University of Southern California. Dr. Lawson practiced for 15 years as a physical therapist in the areas of orthopedics and wound management. His clinical journey included an orthopedic residency at Kaiser Hayward, in Hayward, CA. along working in a sports medicine fellowship in Greensboro, NC. Dr. Lawson was awarded an academic doctorate at Loma Linda University. Prior to joining the faculty at WMU, Dr. Lawson was an associate professor in the department of Physical Therapy Education at Elon University. His teaching responsibilities at Elon included orthopedics (lower extremity), electrophysiology, and integumentary/wound management.
Dr. Lawson continues with research using different forms of electrical stimulation for orthopedic injuries and chronic, non-healing wounds. He is also very involved in musculoskeletal imaging and an active clinician.
