William C. Walker, MD, is the Ernst and Helga Prosser Professor and Associate Chair of Clinical Care in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. Dr Walker is board-certified in PM&R with over 25 years of experience performing clinical care and clinical research in persons with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and other neurologic disorders. He is an attending physician for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit, Medical Director of the Concussion Care Clinic at VCU, and Senior Scientific Director of the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center at the McGuire VAMC in Richmond. He is active on multiple clinical research grants involving persons with TBI including serving as Study Chairman for the Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium multicenter longitudinal study of U.S. military personnel and Veterans with post 9/11 combat deployments. Dr Walker is also a long-standing investigator on the NIDDR funded TBI-Model Systems of Care, has over 80 peer reviewed original research manuscripts published, and has garnered multiple research awards. His research interests include TBI outcomes, post-traumatic headaches, pain, and other comorbidities.
