RSP: The Physiatry Group
I earned my BSN from the University of Alabama (UA) in 2012 and worked as an RN in MICU, CICU, and an outpatient cancer treatment center in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, AL. I obtained by MSN from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2015 and am credentialed as an FNP through the AANP. My first nurse practitioner job was in transitional care/home health within west-central Alabama, and I also worked as an adjunct clinical instructor for the BSN Program at UAB. In 2016, I joined RSP: The Physiatry Group where I currently see patients daily within an inpatient PM&R setting at DCH Rehabilitation Pavilion and patients weekly at a local SNF, Aspire of West Alabama. Since then, I became a certified rehabilitation registered nurse. I later earned by DNP at the University of Alabama in 2017 where I performed a preliminary study regarding the pre and post implementation of depression screening within our inpatient unit which won the “Most Scientific Award” for poster presentation at the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses REACH Conference in 2017. I have since served as a mentor for the UA DNP Program and have expanded upon my initial research regarding the prevalence of depression within our rehab population and the need for depression screening.
