Tracy Mroz, PhD, OTR/L is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington. Dr. Mroz is an occupational therapist and health services researcher with expertise in post-acute care policy and service delivery. Her clinical experience working within the fragmented healthcare system and witnessing the barriers patients face in accessing high quality, patient-centered care motivated her to become a health services researcher. She trained at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in gerontological health services research and policy and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in delivery system science at the Group Health Research Institute (now Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute) prior to joining the faculty at the University of Washington. Her research agenda focuses on the impact of health policy and delivery system factors on post-acute care services for older adults and adults with disabilities, with an emphasis on home health care and care provided in rural communities. Her primary research approach is secondary analysis of large data sets, including Medicare claims and assessment data, national survey data, and community-level data on health resources and utilization.
