Dr. Carol Gibson-Gill has served as Chief of the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders Service of the VA New Jersey Health Care System in East Orange, New Jersey since 2008 and Director, VHA Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence NJ Regional Hub since 2006. She is also Director of the ALS Program at the VA New Jersey Health Care System. Dr. Gill is trained in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, with more than 20 years of experience providing care to veterans with spinal cord injuries and their families. Training and support of caregivers is a special area of interest for Dr. Gill, and she has led a variety of educational and supportive programs for caregivers of veterans with special funding from the Veterans Health Administration. Dr. Gill recently collaborated with Drs. Morris and Zanca on project to develop an assessment tool for direction-of-care and caregiving skills, with support from the Department of the Army.
