This symposium presents an integrative health approach to assessment and treatment of cancer-related mental health concerns. We will identify common mental health concerns in cancer rehabilitation such as stress, depression, pain, and cognitive change, and explore evidenced-based treatments that can address these symptoms. Benefits and contraindications of utilizing integrative medicine in this population will be discussed. Highlighted modalities will include meditation, expressive therapies, massage, nutrition, yoga, tai chi and acupuncture. This symposium will include strategies for effective communication with patients, families and clinicians regarding the importance of addressing these symptoms, and share strategies for connecting patients to integrative health resources.
