This session will provide an in-depth analysis of the current understanding of the benefits of exercise/physical activity in patients with Multiple Sclerosis. This will be followed by practical information on exercise testing and test interpretation as a basis for an evidence based exercise prescription with information on how to develop the exercise prescription. The last presentation in the session will provide a state-of-the-art review and practical information on promotion of exercise and physical activity in patients with Multiple Sclerosis.

Learning Objectives:

• Upon completion of this session participants should be able to understand the benefits of exercise and physical activity for people with MS
• Upon completion, participants should be able to understand how to decide on exercise test selection, how to interpret the test results, and how to prescribe exercise based on the results
• Upon completion, participants should be able to understand the outcomes to date of exercise/physical activity promotion for patients with MS, and understand the basics of implementing such promotion efforts
