David L. Perez M.D., M.M.S.c. is a faculty member in the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Perez is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and is the founding director of the Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) Clinic based within the Cognitive Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry Units at the Massachusetts General Hospital. In the MGH FND Clinic, Dr. Perez provides specialized, integrated neurologic and psychiatric consultations for patients experiencing motor Functional Neurological Disorders, including individuals with Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures, Functional Movement Disorders, and Functional Limb Weakness. The FND clinical program also includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, and psychotherapists. Dr. Perez is also the director of the MGH Functional Neurology Research Group, which is dedicated to the comprehensive clinical and neurobiological investigation of motor Functional Neurological Disorders. Dr. Perez's neuroimaging lab has helped elucidate brain-symptom severity and brain-disease risk relationships in patients with FND using quantitative structural MRI approaches.
