Julie Lamarre obtained a master’s degree in occupational therapy from University of Ottawa in October 2018 and a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Montreal in 2015. During her graduate studies, she completed bilingual internships in a variety of settings and regions in Canada. She gained valuable experience in community home care working with developmentally delayed children, adults affected by mental illness and provided services in physical medicine. Julie also worked at the geriatric unit of The Ottawa Hospital and at the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare outpatient rehabilitation unit in Windsor (ON). During her master, she also developed relevant research abilities by actively working on a case study named “Occupational Performance Coaching in a retirement home” under the supervision of Professors Mary Egan, Dorothy Kessler and Doctor Katrine Sauvé-Schenk. She is now living in Louisiana, where she will be contributing to the profession by working in an ethical manner alongside researchers and practitioners who are seeking to develop the field of occupational therapy.
