– United States
Jodi Krause is the Brain Injury Educational Coordinator at Children's Hospital Colorado. She has been a Clinical Learning Specialist for the hospital since 2010 primarily in the Learning Services Department and transitioned into the Brain Injury Educational Coordinator Role in 2017. Jodi opened a multidisciplinary classroom for children with brain injuries and other rehab needs on the inpatient rehab unit at Children's Hospital Colorado in 2012 , the first of it's kind on the medical units at CHCO. This setting provides social opportunities for patients and provides a natural place for therapists and professionals to co-treat. Additionally the classroom simulates a modified learning environment where interventions are trialed and later communicated to receiving home school teams. Jodi developed multidisciplinary return to school discharge tools that receiving school teams have found valuable when reintegrating students into the classroom. She consults with school districts across the state on concussion protocols and the TBI eligibilty process and she provides TBI education to her teacher colleagues in the field. She works to connect patients and families to community agencies and district level brain injury teams. As a member of the Acquired Brain Injury Clinic team Jodi is able to continue to support parents and school teams as educational needs evolve over time.
