Virginia Wright is a registered physiotherapist with graduate training in health research. She completed her PhD at McMaster University in Health Research Methodology. She is a Senior Scientist in the Bloorview Research Institute in Toronto where she leads the SPARK Lab (Supporting Physical Activity rehabiltation-based Research for Kids). She holds the Holland Bloorview Children's Hospital Chair In Pediatric Rehabilitation (2012-2022) and is a Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. Her primary research interests are in the design and validation of outcome measures for children with physical disabilities, assessment of change within the context of the ICF, and evaluation of physiotherapy interventions related to robotic-assisted treadmill gait training and to enhancing physical literacy.
