Dr. Sumanas (Sue) Jordan is an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She received her MD/PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Emory and the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2010. She completed her thesis on bioinspired surface modification of vascular grafts and finite element modeling of blood coagulation. Dr. Jordan is a graduate of the integrated plastic surgery residency program at Northwestern University. She completed a reconstructive microsurgery fellowship at The Ohio State University, which included training in vascularized lymph node transfers and lymphovenous bypass. Dr. Jordan has published on topics ranging from biomaterials to breast reconstruction and TMR, in journals including Science Translational Medicine, Advanced Functional Materials, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and Annals of Surgery. Her clinical focus includes targeted muscle reinnervation, microsurgery for lymphedema, and gender affirmation surgery. In her laboratory, she is developing bioactive, 3D-printed scaffolds for skeletal muscle and peripheral nerve regeneration.
