Ahad has BS and MS degree in Biomedical Engineering, and PhD in Biomechanics and Movement Science program from the University of Delaware’s Physical Therapy department. Since 2013, Ahad has been working on a number of NIH and Shriners Hospital for Children funded projects, involving the application of electrical stimulation to enhance muscle strength, fitness and function on children with cerebral palsy (CP). His main expertise is in rehabilitation engineering, and currently he is designing a mechanized soft exoskeleton for pediatric rehabilitation using alternative sot actuators. Ahad served as the Entrepreneurial Lead of a NSF I-Corps Team; and has recently been awarded the Blue Hen Proof of Concept Post-Doctorate Fellowship and University City Science Center’s QED to prototype this device.
