Dr. Zuzek is an employee of Allergan, and is the Medical Director for Spasticity & Movement Disorders, Urology and Toxin Science.
As a Doctoral and Post-doctoral researcher, he studied vesicle trafficking to improve neurological outcomes post traumatic injury (e.g. peripheral nerve crush, or traumatic brain injury). His research background provided detailed knowledge of the effects of botulinum toxins on neurons and other tissues, as he used botulinum toxins to elucidate the involvement of SNAREs in vesicle trafficking pathways.
Dr. Zuzek is very interested in improving outcomes and investigating novel approaches regarding botulinum toxin therapy in the treatment of neurological disorders. As Medical Director, he has developed medical strategies for BOTOX® Therapeutic in Spasticity & Movement Disorders and Urology, and leads spasticity publication planning, and Phase IV Spasticity Trial (ASPIRE).
