This workshop introduces and discusses how rehabilitation specialists integrate the concept of the "energetic inner core (DanTian)" into rehabilitative practices in order to enhance rehabilitation outcomes. It will focus on the clinical application of eastern medical theory and philosophy on clients with complex chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome and adhesive capsulitis.

Participants will engage in interactive activities to discover and utilize the inner core in their own daily life. Using the hands-on experiential knowledge learned and specific intervention techniques, participants will apply this knowledge to their specific clinical settings.

Learning Objectives:

• Develop an awareness of how the inner core affects activity performance and physical, mental, cognitive and spiritual health.
• Apply energetic inner core concepts in their own daily activities and movements.
• Integrate 3 energetic inner core principles into rehabilitation intervention
• Describe current research on the use of CAM and complex pain symptom management
