Nutrition is a critical feature in maintenance of flexible healthy physiology that can resist damage from insult and maintain function. In aging and in injury, chronic and acute insults threaten cellular damage and function. Timely strategic nutritional therapies may forestall permanent dysfunction and aid in restoring function. Polyphenol supplementation and use of ketogenic diets are gaining traction among scientists, therapist and the lay public for their health benefits.
