This presentation will discuss current views in stroke recovery and acquired speech, language and swallowing disorders with an eye to looking more closely at brain activation and re-integration.  Clinical applications of music driven interventions will be demonstrated, shared and discussed within this back drop.

Learning Objectives:

• Upon completion participants will be able to identify areas of the brain for speech and language production and for melody and singing production.
• Upon completion participants will be able to identify 3 components of MMIT that lead to functional outcomes in Aphasia.
• Upon completion participants will be able to articulate components of Music Therapy that lead to functional outcomes in Dysphagia.
