Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neurpathy is an adverse effect of many chemotherapy regimens that can have significant impact on quality of life of cancer survivors. This symposium will highlight the importance of an interdisciplinary rehabilitative approach in the evaluation, medical managment and treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. Therapuetic intervention for treatment of pain, sensory impairments, functional deficits, and balance dysfunction related to chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

• Describe the pathophysiology of the common chemotherapeutic drugs that cause CIPN
• Describe the grading system for CIPN, variation and length of symptoms as well contributing comorbidities
• Describe and assess functional impairments commonly seen in patients with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy
• Attendees will be able to describe and implement the TEN Test for hand sensory screening
• Participants will be able to describe the impact of lower extremity chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) on functionality.
