Dr. Bhatt's talk witll focus on perturbation-based fall prevention training in healthy, aging and neurological populations. She will also discuss translation of training to real-life contexts. Lastly, advances in commercial devices and practice protocols derived from the growing evidence-base in this field will be presented. Louis DePasquale's talk will focus on the RIPPs (repeated incremental predictable perturbation) Balance method. His talk will focus on his work towards translating such approach to the community of geriatric rehab clinicians. He will also compare and contrast the RIPPs method with other existing stance reactive balance assessment and training paradigms.
