(603423) Comparison of Self-Report, Standardized, and Functional Cognitive Measures following mTBI: Clinical Case Studies

The purpose of this study was to compare performance of self-report, standardized, and functional measures of cognition completed by adults following mTBI in sub-acute and chronic injury phases. Results indicated variable performance patterns across measures, however, participant self-report related more strongly to functional task performance than to standardized test performance. Furthermore, functional task performance revealed unique deficits not detected on standardized measures which allowed for collection of information relative to daily living challenges in naturalistic contexts. We will discuss individual cases and highlight clinical implications for rehabilitation professionals assessing this population.
