In summer 2020, the U.S. News Best Hospitals for Rehabilitation rankings will for the first time incorporate patient outcomes and other objective measures into its evaluation of the nation’s 1,000-some inpatient rehabilitation facilities and rehabilitation units. In this session, U.S. News’ methodology head will describe how his team will incorporate data from two sources, the CMS IRF Compare website and the American Hospital Association Annual Survey Database. Discussants will respond to U.S. News’ announcement, and audience members will also have the opportunity to provide input into how U.S. News should evaluate hospitals’ performance in PM&R.
