Ekaterina Dobryakova, PhD, is a Research Scientist at Kessler Foundation and a Research Assistant Professor at the PM&R Department at Rutgers University NJ Medical School. Dr. Dobryakova has been trained as a cognitive neuroscientist. Dr. Dobryakova’s work focuses on examining cognitive mechanisms associated with striatal functioning in individuals with brain injury and multiple sclerosis. Striatal engagement is involved with learning, motivation, depression, and fatigue, which are important aspects of rehabilitation. The overarching goal of Dr. Dobryakova’s research is improvement of rehabilitation strategies. Her research has been funded by federal, private and state agencies and her publication record spans journals in the fields of rehabilitation, neuropsychology, and cognitive neuroscience research. In addition, she is a current Chair of the Communication Task Force of the ACRM’s Early Career Networking Group and is a member of the Neurodegenerative Diseases Networking Group where she is a Chair of the Multiple Sclerosis Task Force.
