Marie N. Dahdah, PhD, is a Clinical Neuropsychologist in the Center for Medical Psychology at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Plano (BSWMCP) where she provides neurocognitive assessment and consultation services to patients with a variety of neurological illnesses. She has worked with TBI survivors for 17 years. She was previously employed for the Palo Alto Veteran Administration’s Defense and Veteran’s Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) in Palo Alto, CA, where she examined long-term cognitive, psychiatric, and functional outcomes in active duty and veteran military personnel following TBI, in addition to providing cognitive assessment. Dr. Dahdah is also a research investigator with Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation (BSWIR). Dr. Dahdah’s published and ongoing research with the N. TX TBIMS includes comparative effectiveness of and development of best practice guidelines for TBI rehabilitation care. She has collaborated with other TBIMS centers on studies examining the long-term effects of TBI on neurological, psychiatric, cognitive, and functional sequelae, as well as the feasibility of DNA collection in TBI survivors. She serves as BSW’s site PI on a multi-center PCORI-funded study assessing the comparative effectiveness of sleep apnea assessment strategies in TBI survivors. Her work in teh technology realm examines the application of virtual reality intervention in the neurorehabilitation setting, as a means of improving executive compromise. She is a member of a special interest group examining the impact of aging on outcomes for TBI survivors, and she serves on the TBI Advisory Council for BSWIR, and the Neuroscience Advisory Council of BSWMCP. Dr. Dahdah has been invited to present on her brain injury research at national and international conferences, brain injury think tanks, and community forums.
