Dr. Hornby is Professor of the Dept of PMR and Physical Therapy at Indiana University School of Medicine, and Director of the Locomotor Recovery Laboratory at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. His doctorate training at the University of Arizona focused on neuroscience and physiology, and he completed his physical therapy degree at the University of Pittsburgh. The focus of his laboratory is directed towards developing and testing strategies that may improve walking function in patients with neurological injury, and understanding potential mechanisms underlying improved walking performance. More recent work has been directed towards implementing various training paradigms into clinical practice, and understanding their contributions towards improve locomotor function.
