Dr. Kimberly Davis, Ph.D. is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist and brain injury research scientist at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH). She is also an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Section within the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). She obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Purdue University and completed a clinical psychology internship at Primary Children’s Hospital and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship specializing in pediatric neuropsychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Davis currently serves as the principal psychology consultant for the TCH Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit where she provides comprehensive assessment, consultation, and family education for children, adolescents, and young adults with recently acquired brain injury. Dr. Davis is also actively involved in service provision across the continuum of brain injury recovery, ranging from the Neurointensive Care Unit (NICU) to the Multidisciplinary Follow-up and Outpatient Neuropsychological Service Clinics. Her primary research interests involve measuring and predicting outcome following moderate-to-severe pediatric acquired brain injury. Some of her earlier research focused on the relationship between measures of brain injury severity and outcome and the evaluation of motor disturbance during brain injury associated delirium. She is currently involved in research aimed at characterizing the trajectory of recovery for children participating in acute inpatient rehabilitation, examining injury and psychosocial factors as predictors of recovery.
