Dr. Rebecca Dutton earned her medical degree from the University of California San Francisco. She went on to complete her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford University before pursuing a fellowship in Sports Medicine, also at Stanford. Dr. Dutton has been with the University of New Mexico since 2016, where she specializes in the diagnosis and non-operative management of musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries. Her clinical expertise also includes electrodiagnosis of muscular and neurogenic conditions as well as the use of ultrasound for musculoskeletal diagnosis as well as guidance of non-surgical procedures. Dr. Dutton’s research interests include injury prevention and risk factor modification in the athlete, the impact of adapted sports participation for persons with disability, and optimizing rehabilitation outcomes in developing countries. She also has a special interest in medical education and curriculum development, and currently serves as the Associate Program Director for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at UNM.
