Dr. Yufen (Jennie) Chen, PhD is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine. She is a Biomedical Engineer and her research focuses on using noninvasive MR methods to study brain physiology and function. Dr. Chen’s primary area of research is in arterial spin labeling (ASL), an entirely noninvasive technique that measures absolute cerebral blood flow (CBF) without any exogenous contrast agents. She is interested in applications of ASL to study changes in brain perfusion during disease progression or drug challenge, as well as research in improving the accuracy of the technique. As the research manager of the state-of-the-art research-dedicated neuroimaging MR facility at Northwestern University, she has the unique opportunity to interact with many research groups, allowing her to assimilate and integrate various research techniques to study the brain.
