Jeff Leismer, PhD is the Founder and CEO of VibeTech (Sheboygan, WI). VibeTech is a NASA Spinoff company based on technology Dr. Leismer originally developed as a countermeasure to space disuse atrophy. He has led the company’s creation of advanced robotic therapeutic vibration rehabilitation systems as well as the generation of concepts and prototypes for low cost technologies suitable for mass production for rehab facilities, memory care facilities, home care, etc. He has 10 issued and 3 pending patents in the US and abroad. He has been an invited proposal review panelist for NSF’s biomedical engineering directorate as well as for the Applied Research Grant program for the University of Wisconsin System’s tech transfer office, WiSys Technology Foundation. He has been featured on various TV and radio shows and newspaper/magazine articles and presented at scientific and entrepreneurial conferences. He has served as a patent consultant to help small and large companies review their patent portfolios and prepare patent applications for submission. He was Sr. Lecturer and Adjunct Faculty Member in engineering departments at the University of Wisconsin (multiple campuses). Prior to that, he headed the physiology research division of the Kohler Co. Consumer Experience Lab, where his research led to the creation of novel whirlpool jets and bathing products intended for older adults. He holds a PhD in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida, a MENG in Biomechanics from Michigan Tech, and a BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Michigan Tech.
