Christina M. del Toro, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is co-chair of the Aphasia and Other Communication Disorders Task Force of the ACRM Stroke ISIG and an Associate Professor in Speech-Language Pathology at Midwestern University. She teaches courses on aphasia, research methods, and evidence-based practice. She mentors graduate speech-language pathology student research through theses. She regularly guest lectures within the College of Health Sciences on speech-language pathology, aphasia and related adult neurogenic language impairments. Dr. del Toro's research currently has two aims: 1) Investigating characteristics of nouns and verbs which facilitate word recall in persons with aphasia and 2) Identifying effective methods for educating people with aphasia and their caregivers on the disorder.
