Technology is changing the way we care for older adults as well as how information is collected, shared, analyzed, and integrated into health care organizations. Staying up to date on the latest technology trends can feel overwhelming, sometimes generating more questions than answers. What are the top trends? How will I know if the technology I invest in today will improve how I care for my residents? Can my organization afford it? Join us to explore the latest in emerging technology trends and the applications for use in senior health care. We’ll take a nontechnical walk through the world of health care technology and explore ways that providers approach changes to their programs, practices, and processes when new products and technology are being implemented. Attendees will learn to evaluate the value technology can bring to their organization.

Learning Objectives:

• Review the basics of health technology in the areas of active monitoring, passive monitoring, social engagement as well as technologies identified as smart and connected.
• Discuss the important considerations providers are facing when implementing technology into the senior healthcare continuum including acceptability, usability, clinical decision making, ethical implications and more.
