The implementation of the new patient driven payment model (PDPM) Medicare reimbursement system presents a challenge to SNF providers. This session will focus on sharing financial and operational benchmarking data under the PDPM. We will discuss the planning and budgeting steps that should be taken to be financially successful when using the PDPM.
Understanding that health systems, referral sources, lenders, and others have an interest in an organization’s performance, we will share the CEO perspective on navigating an organization through all of these changes and communicating with stakeholders on these new initiatives.
These new reporting requirements and reimbursement changes will require providers to think about operations differently. Providers will be challenged to manage hospital readmissions, reduce length of stay and produce strong quality outcomes. We will share examples of how this multistate chain provider is implementing successful strategies to redesign its processes. Specifically, we will discuss which functions at the facility level have been modified and what new processes have been created due to the anticipation of the PDPM. We will disucss how corporate office and regional roles have evolved and what changes may be expected for these positions in the future.
We will examine how providers can evaluate an in-house therapy program and whether it may be an objective for their organization to consider. Speakers will share some attributes and potential risks of successful in-house therapy programs.
