Lloyd Rucker is an internist, hospitalist and medical educator. At the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine he served as the Associate Dean for Curriculum for 15 years, the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director for 22 years, the Vice Chair for Education and the Physician Advisor to Case Management and Utlilization Management. He is currently the Director of the Hospitalist Program at the Tibor Rubin Long Beach VA Medical Center as well as the Deputy Chief of the Medicine Health Care Group. He is the founding director of the Tibor Rubin Long Beach VA Medical Center Suboxone Medically-assisted Therapy Consultation Service. He is the author of 50 peer reviewed articles in utilization management and medical education and the recipient of numerous teaching awards.
